New monitor on a beige G3 with YDL 3.01

Did you check to find out whether your video card can support the LCD
and whether YDL 3.0.1 has the drivers to recognize the new device.  Of
course, yum is your buddy here.However yum will only see repositories of
YDL 3.0.1 as you are using that version of YDL. However you could get
around this by upgrading your kernel to at least 2.6.5 to get it the
newer video and other drivers.
