VVDQ : pine??

[Beartooth]

I have failed to elicit any pre-packaged pine for YDL at all; and things
like make, install, and compile give me the galloping fantods. Otoh, UW
does have rpms for redhat/fedora, and a tarball for unix. Has anyone
successfully used any of this under 4.0, or even 3.0??
