installing YDL packages post-installation

Hi, I've been struggling with getting YDL 3.0 installed on my old
PowerCenter. I tried several times to install the system the way I
want it (with KDE, some basic desktop apps, etc.) but every time the
installation would just freeze up. It would hang at some random point
during the installation of the packages. I tried numerous things, even
redownloading and burning the ISOs. Eventually I managed to get an
installation working by installing the "minimal" set that anaconda
offers. (I think that the only reason that worked over my other
attempts was sheer luck, it was a shorter install process, so less
chance of it freezing before it was done.)

So now I have a working YDL install, but no X, no KDE, no ssh or ftp
server, etc. I know that I can use apt-get to install some packages,
and have done so, but what I would really like to be able to do is
install the YDL packages (especially the X-related ones) so that they
are configured like they would be if they had been installed with the
rest of the system. Short of restarting the installation process,
choosing the setup that I want and then writing down the names of all
the packages, I can't figure out how to get this stuff set up. Is
there any way to do this? Ideally, is there any way to run the
anaconda installer (or the equivalent) after having installed the
minimal system?

Thanks,
peter
