I have a similar setup and the only difference in my XF86Config file
is the asterisk below: (SendCoreEvents)

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier      "USB Mice"
        Driver          "mouse"
       *Option          "SendCoreEvents"        "true"
        Option          "Device"                "/dev/input/mice"
        Option          "Protocol"              "ImPS/2"
        Option          "ZAxisMapping"          "4 5"
        Option          "Buttons"               "5"
        Option          "Emulate3Buttons"       "on"
