Best 2.6 kernel for OldWorld PowerMac?

Another location is http://www.ppckernel.org

You will find there kernels and kernel sources specifically modified for
PPC systems. These kernels contain the most recent modifications and
bugfixes for PPC. They are usually merged into the main kernel tree on
www.kernel.org with a little delay.

hfsutils is your friend ! Or simply mount your MacOS boot partition
under linux, and do a straight copy. This assumes of course that your
boot partition is HFS formatted.

Also, not so long ago (I believe around kernel 2.4.21 or so) the hfsplus
module was greatly improved. I dare even mount hfsplus formatted
partitions under linux now. But be careful anyway! I can't guarantee
anything here.

Hope this helps.
