Thanks, dude! Hmmm... *my* father taught me to use an honorific with 
people whom I have only just met. It's a habit that is hard to break.

(There is a certain familiarity implied with e-mail that is not the same 
as we encounter in real life. However, I think we could learn from some 
of the civilities practiced in previous generations. Therefore, I refer 
to folks as "sir" or "madam" until our relationship has crossed that 
threshold.)
