Normally a Linux system will be config'd to run on GMT (sometimes also 
called UTC) time. However, if you are running a dual boot system (e.g., 
with osx), setting the Linux side to GMT/UTC will throw off the time on 
the osx side. The solution is (was for me, anyway): Go into your date & 
time config on the Linux side & change time config from UTC (or GMT) to 
"local." If that doesn't do the trick, re-post.
