function keys on iBook

Hi,

Is it possible to chanage the way hoe F1-12-keys work on iBook G3 900MHz.
My keys F1..F12 are accessible while 'fn' key is pressed. Volume, brightnes controls
are workong without pressing 'fn' key. I would like to have it set up other way around
so that F1..F12 keys would work without need of pressing 'fn' key. An special features
would be accessible while 'fn' key is pressed.
