KFloppy

Hi 

i am running YDL 3 on a Cube with an external 3,5 USB-Floppy-Drive from LaCie. 
mounting, read/write works fine, formating with the preinstalled KFloppy does 
not work. The KFloppy-Tool ist searching for a device at
/dev/fd0
but there it can`t find the floppy, because the floppy works over usb at   
/dev/sda
Does anyone know, how i can get it working properly?

I tried with
ln -s /dev/sda dev/fd0H1440  and then starting KFloppy
and
# mkdosfs /dev/sda
but both did not work.
