Kernel 2.6.5 help

It sounds like something in your config isn't right.  Did you run make 
config or make xconfig to make sure that everything was set up for your 
system?  If you email me off of the list I can send you a copy of my 
config file I used for the 2.6.5 kernel on my eMac G4.  It would give 
you a place to start.  I configured almost everything to be built in 
except the firewire is a module.  Also, did you put a copy of the new 
kernel in /boot?
