You have some options, If you download the ppc.rpm for firefox then
yes you would type:

rpm -ivh firefox*

Yes, that is the beauty of yum, at the command line as su - super
user
type:

yum upgrade firefox.  

BUT this assumes that your yum.conf file points to a repository that
has an updated firefox.  If you have not modified it from the day you
installed it then the answer is no.  If you switch your yum.conf file
to point to freshrpms.net you will get 0.9.2
