Well, I did use BBEdit so I'm willing to go the not so free rout. If it
works, I'll pay a reasonable price for it.

It sounds like a few people are encouraging me to use emacs and gedit
and nedit and... I'll give it all a try and report back. Maybe even
comment on the whole switching from Mac to Linux issue.
