Can't login after installation of YDL 3.0.1

<P>I'm new to Linux. I've just installed YDL 3.1.0 on a iMac and it seems to be fine. During instalation I chose a username and a password.</P>
<P>After the boot sequence, when the system reaches the grafical login screen asking for username and password, is doesn't accept the information I chose during installation.</P>
<P>Is there any special format to enter username and password on the screen (e.g. <A href="mailto:username@root">username@root</A>, username, etc.) ?</P>
