Brian, 

Would you be willing to post instructions to the "Wiki" at Ubuntu's
website explaining the basic outline of how to install Ubuntu on an
OldWorld Mac? I'm sure the project would be happy to have that info on
there, and, I'm sure there will be lots of people very grateful for
your efforts.
