Ibook Dual Usb Fan Problems

I'm not sure if this will help, but...

I have a iBook G4, and my fan almost never (to any listenable speed) runs
under OS X, but under Linux (currently running Ubuntu) it frequently spins
fast enough to hear it. Thus, my iBook frequently gets hot under OS X but
stays relatively cool under Linux.

Hope it helps,
Andy
