I'm sorry, but apt-rpm which synaptic uses, was a POS. It would randomly
corrupt the RPM db... hence I'm not shipping it or synaptic.

We cannot ship MP3 support. Rhythmbox is a pretty good ogg player, but
we're having a ton of problems with sound drivers because none of them
work on all systems. Give us time, we'll get the mess sorted out. If you
have modern hardware, edit your /etc/modprobe.conf to use alsa (which
works on most recent systems but chokes hard on old stuff, 12"
powerbooks and brand new 15/17 powerbooks + G5s) instead of the mostly
working OSS.
