iBook G4 1.2ghz Fan Problems

Good input Rich, but my G3 ibook has some type of power management 
affliction for sure. I don't know if airport x-ray scans affect devices 
such as fans and airport cards. I first started noticing a smell of 
overheated electronic components when I opened my ibook once I boarded a 
plane. Then my airport card stopped being recognized and my ibook 
started shutting itself off. That was the final catalyst to prompt my 
complete dissamble of my ibook. The airport card sits directly above the 
processor on a plate has a copper rod and heatsink. I have to partially 
assemble my mac to test my fan. I'm sure something is faulty somewhere.

What temp causes the thermal protection circuit on the ibook G3 500mhz 
to shutdown???
