Hi,
Has anyone already had success setting up YDL 4 on an oldworld machine
using BootX ?
So far, I didn't manage.
Just like in list message
http://lists.terrasoftsolutions.com/pipermail/yellowdog-general/2004-November/016695.html
I get similar output during boot. It ends with a 'mon>' prompt at which
I could type things. It's no traditional shell though, since it doesn't
respond to ls or things like that, but rather shows me memory addresses
and register values.
So I suppose my kernel isn't booting either, but I don't know why
exactly. According to me, it can't be a CD issue, since the kernel
should be loaded from my MacOS (9) partition, together with a ramdisk on
the same volume.
On the other hand, the Ubuntu kernels are also version 2.6.8, and I can
boot those. Would there be an option omitted in the YDL kernel
configuration that make I can't boot it ? BTW, the MacOS 9 partition is
hfs+, although this hasn't mattered until now as all other kernels I
used work just fine.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks,
Geert Jan
