Color Depth with Studio Display G4 Cube, ATI Rage 128 ADC 17 inch LCD YDL 4.0.1

Beth, did you ever recompile the kernel?

I'm having the same issue with my cube, ati rage 128 pro, apple studio 
display 17inch and ydl 4.0.1 with the most recent kernel.  I'm new to 
linux and the thought of recompiling the kernel with ATI support sounds 
difficult... anyone compile it yet?  If not, could someone please point 
me in the right direction?  How would I compile the kernel to have ATI 
Rage 128 support and work with my flat panel?  Any help would 
appreciated.
