VVDQ : default to Gnome in 4.0??

I've tried everything I can find or think of, and the machine keeps
defaulting to KDE every time anyone logs in.

I want the opposite -- Gnome unless a user specifically asks for KDE. I
know I had it that way, before I fouled up and had to reinstall YDL ....
