Hey all,

i want tu use my scanner from ydl, it isn't detected yet by sane.
it is a canon lide 30 supposed to be working with kooka, sane and xsane.

when trying xsane it isn't detected then i've installed usbview to see what's detected.
here i got an error message (after sudo usbview):
Can not open the file /proc/bus/usb/devices

Verify that you have USB compiled into your kernel,
have the USB core modules loaded, and have the usbdevfs filesystem mounted.

OK, now my usn mouse abd keyboard are working then i suspect only the latest :
"usbdevfs filesystem mounted"

i suppose this is a line to add in /etc/fstab ???

which one ?

hardware probing at startup didn't see this new connected usb device.

is there a more common way to do hardware detection on ydl ?

best,
