Question on OSX and YDL on a PB

Hi Gang:
Sometime ago there was a detailed discussion on how YDL and OS X can share 
directories or partitions on one drive.  I'm interested in discovering if this 
is so and if there is a special installation process for a PB which would allow 
me to install YDL 4 without wiping whatever is on the PB drive.

Any takers....?
