Make sure your the first install CD is in the drive, Press the C key
upon boot and then the instructions below should provide more detail

Now, monkey Daniel Gimpelevich is absolutely right when he warns you
that you cannot use pdisk to resize the same drive pdisk is on. A finer
point is this, I have read your past postings along this topic and you
apparently have only one drive. Using pdisk in this case is absolutely
NOT advised as you will most likely ruin the one drive you have.

And then, well everyone knows how any monkey goes nuts...no one wants
that for you or for those you may live with or who may live near you.

IF your goal is to repartition your drive and you don't care about
anything on it now; then doing a full reinstall of YDL is the purpose of
using this procedure and using pdisk from the install CD.

However, if you want to merely change this or that using pdisk and
believe you can go back to whatever was left when you last saw it --
forget it. Pdisk will remove what you tell it to yes, but there is no
way for it to put ANYTHING back. Even if you reconstruct the partition,
as far as pdisk AND your drive will be concerned that partition will be
completely new and written as such. Whatever was there will be gone and
I bet you didn't back up to other media either. Oh boy will you have
fun.

Using pdisk for you in your case, is like playing Nuclear War...and just
like the movie pointed out...the only way to win is NOT to play.

Sorry monkey you are stuck with no way out. Don't use pdisk to
repartition your only working drive. If you do, you will not be happy
and neither will anyone else around you. And if it gets that bad then
somebody will start thinking of saving themselves by putting you out of
your misery.

Think about it. Don't use pdisk to repartition unless you intend to do
a full re-install of YDL AND a full re-install the MACOS because
remember pdisk affects not merely a part of the drive, but the ENTIRE
drive! You unlike many of us, have only ONE drive.

No monkey hacks at the limb where it sits in its favorite tree.
