External FW setup

I have YDL 4.0 already installed and running OK on my ibook G3 1.2ghz. 

I will give it a go with basic community direction!  This "by hand
method" may be  too involved for my experience.   I assume a future yum
update to 4.0.1 will smooth this out for us GUI folks?
