Correcting computer time using ntpdate & ntp

Personally, I just added a new entry in the services for ntpdate.
However, I would like to hear the fix (if anyone knows of one).
Also, off topic, but my Pismo G3 always starts up with the hour wrong, 
when it is not online.
The minutes, date, and year are exact, and I'm PRETTY sure that I've 
got the
time zones correct...
Anyone have a solution?
