[ydl-gen] hard drives always run at full speed

I'm running YDL 4.1 on a set of 3 g4 (7400/7450) powermacs.  I've  
noticed that the hard drives never spin down - even when the machines  
are completely idle.

Is there a fix for this?  I've noticed that in their past life as  
slow, neglected OS X boxen, the hard drives would be completely  
silent when nothing was going on in the machine.
