Agreed. We're looking at buying dual cell blades directly from Mercury
right now. If it's just for practice/learning, the PS3 is the much
cheaper option.

I feel similarly, but I also look at it from this perspective: I
bought the PS3 primarily as a tool to learn the Cell, not to learn
the PS3s hardware so much. With YDL and the Cell SDK, plus Mr
Bartlett's tutorials, I can code for the Cell, no matter where it
lives. In this light, while Linux access to some of the coolest PS3
hardware is limited, it does serve the purpose for which I originally
bought it (and lets me play some cool games as well). The PS3 and
YDL is still the least expensive Cell SDK out there by far.
