Can't mount CD/DVD

I am trying to install YDL 2.2 on my G4 (AGP graphics). The installer loads up just fine, but after I choose my keyboard layout the installer reports that the CD/DVD could not be mounted. This doesn't make much sense to me since the installer loaded off of the cd. How could the installer just forget how to access the same cd it is on? Maybe there is some other problem here? Please help.
