Eric, Shawn, Thomas ...

Thanks a lot for replying.

Soooo I've tried doing a "basic install" and everything went well. AT LAST I
now can boot under Linux 2.2 and so far it seems to be working flawlessly.

HEY!! I HAVE MY OWN LINUX BOX!!! :-)

BUT (yep, there's more to come...):

- Actually I did a mistake while selecting the keyboard during the
configuration part of the installation; consequently I get the "wrong"
layout under Linux. Would you be so kind as to tell me what file do I have
to edit in order to make things right (actually I need an "it" layout while
the one I selected must apparently be "it-2") and where I can find it?

- One of the goals of all the hassles I (and you) have been through in order
to install YDL, was to be able to use Gnome or Kde. How can I install one of
these now that Linux is working on my machine?

Thanks for your patience!!!

p.s.: Just in case: I DO NOT have any YDL manual; I'd hate giving the
impression that I'm just asking questions without taking the time to do a
bit of research/reading on my own ...
