About to Give up on YDL for PM 6500s

I wrote in about troubles I am having installing YDL 2.3 and 2.2 . I
appreciated the responses, however increasing bootloader size and
experimenting with custom setups does not seem to work. I have tried
different sized partitions, different packages, and using both the text and
Graphical install utilities.

What I have noticed is that when I go to partition the disk using the text
install utility, there are 4 small Macintosh partions 2-5 created
(37kb-256kb) One of them is labeled "patch partition". Is this normal? I
even tried erasing those and re-partioning during one install, still no
look.

End results of my installs is a screen dump ending in Aiee Kernel Panic,
this occurs when the installer finishes checking for dependencies and starts
to write to the disk.

I was hoping to install YDL on 6 PM6500s to use as a cluster, however I may
need to look elsewhere for distributions.
