Getting Airport to Load again

Hi

I have successfully configured Airport for loading at startup, but whenever
I reboot the system after configuring the device/network, the eth1 appears
to load [OK] , but there is no actual connection.

If I go back and:
/sbin/modprobe airport [ENTER] then,
/sbin/iwconfig eth1 essid "My Network Name" enc ABCD123456 [ENTER] then,

Stop the start the network, it works, but as soon as I reboot, the
connection is gone despite the appearance of loading correctly on boot.

I have done the echo commands as well as the
TOPIC: Launching Airport before rc.local commands, which I believe have
enabled eth1 to 'appear' to load on boot.

Is it possible that the 'echo' instructions would write to the respective
files, but not enable the network to correctly load?

Also, when terminating, I get {FAILED} messages regarding bring down
anything to do with ntpd. Is this related? If not, should I be concerned
with it?

Thanks,
Andrew Birch
