Hi Phil, don't have time to help you now but I would suggest you search the
list archives (or even browse them) at yellowdoglinux.com and find posts by
me (Eric D. or liriodendron@mac.com) about pdisk.

You use pdisk to destroy and create partitions (pdisk exists for Mac OS 9, X
and YDL, but as far as I can tell only works in Mac OS 9 and OS X). Details
on using pdisk are posted in those posts (I've posted them a few times in
the past two months).
