Toasting Dayton into a bootable cd...Re: yellowdog-newbie digest, Vol 1 #106 - 3 msgs

Dwight,

I was able to create a bootable Dayton CD from the file I ftp'd from 
Terrasoft by the following:
<the downloaded ISO resided on my OS X desktop file>

 >First, I opened Toast v5.1.4 and clicked the "Utilities" drop down and 
selected "Mount disk Image."
 >Second, I chose the Dayton ISO from my OS X desktop (yes, with a Bbedit 
text icon representing it, I am puzzled by this also???)
 >Third, I clicked the "Read From:" selector in the main window in Toast 
(just below the big blue 'Copy' button) and selected the "ImageFfle: 
your image file here."
 >Finally, I chose the "Record button on the bottom of Toast and away it 
went.

I can't explain the text icon representing the ISO downloaded.
I also had a problem with OS X's Disk Utility and probably got the same 
'extent...' message that you describe.
