netatalkd errors

Trying to get netatalk running.. But getting these errors..

In X: "The file server is running on your machine. Please access the files
and volumes locally"
In 9.2: "the User authentication method required by this server can't be
found. Please check the Appleshare folder in the Extensions folder and try
again"

Im using YDL2.3 and the rpm off the cd.
If anyone has any pointers that would be great.
