using yup, apt-get

I have installed kde3 successfully and also liquid. Now when I try to use=

apt-get or yup I receive the message"there are two or more versions of th=
e=20
package 'kdebase' installed in your system which is a situation APT can't=
=20
handle cleanly  at the moment."
then I am requested to"Remove the older packages, leaving only one versio=
n=20
installed." I can't seem to find the older installed packages.  I have=20
removed all the  duplicate rpms but that doesn't seem to be it.
Help would  be appreciated.=20
