Trying to burn a copy of the iso download

but in OS X the burn fails every time, leaving an unusable disk. In OS 
9, Disk Copy can't burn a from the image, or even read it. What am I 
doing wrong. Please don't tell me to buy the CD. I'd love to, but I 
don't have the money.
