YDL 2.2 on Performa 6400-Speed and monitor isues

I think this may be your problem. I also have a 6400.

I dont' have that NEC vid card, but I suspect it is the culprit of your slowness in X.  I have some off the wall card in mine too, as I used to use a dual monitor setup in MacOS.  Oddly enough, I found much greater performance with XFree by using the stock ATI card that came with the 6400 series.  It even supports OpenGL with YDL.  Try snatching that NEC card outta there and doing a reinstall, with the monitor plugged into the ATI card (if you still have it of course) - after I did that I didn't have *ANY* issues with XFree.

My setup is slightly different than yours. I have a Powerlogix G3/300 Upgrade card, but that cache will not enable. Regardless, it operates quite acceptable.  But, I also have 88MB RAM and a 30GB HD.

I use my YDL box mainly as a linux experiment, but it's quite functional for just about any desktop operation.  I'm also learning GIMP with it.
