More than likely you just don't have the IP set up correctly.  If you
have a static IP on macos, make sure you have the static IP information
set up the same on your linux partition.  If you have DHCP, you can use
pump as a way to get an IP, just do:

	$ pump --interface=eth0

as root user, where eth0 is the interface you are using for internet
access(eth0 for ethernet and eth1 for airport usually).  If you want to
set it up for DHCP automagically at boot you'll have to cruise through
the howto's because i forget off hand ;-)
