init=/bin/sh -> read only?

When doing as you said in the "low memory" how-to, I only get
"read only" in the terminal.
I get 2 errors during startup:
ds: no socket devise drivers loaded
No tty detected.

Is it due to above errors that I only get "read only" terminal?

Hope to get help, have struggled with YDL too long now!
