GNOME and Printers

Hello!

I've got YDL 2.3 on my G3 tower, and I'm having trouble figuring out 
how to get my USB HP Deskjet 940 to work. I've tried in KDE, which has 
a fairly straight forward Printer Wizard, with no luck (it tells me I 
don't have the requisite drivers or permissions...eek).

I looked at the UDL How To pages, and was able to do all the instructed 
activities, except to get printtool to work. when I enter the command 
into a terminal, it says that the command cannot be found. How can I 
get this tool, or enable it?
