I tried running 2.3 on a 7300 and had some problems. YDL tech support told
me to try 2.2 and it has been working great ever since.

Old world Mac's are any machine that has a serial port (at least that is
what I have observed). New world Mac's have G3/G4 and USB/Firewire ports.

I have heard of 2.3 working on some old world Mac's, especially the 8600/300
and the 9600/300 and 350. But I haven't heard of a lot of success in 2.3
running on any other old world Mac.
