Blocked smtp port?

I just installed YDL 2.3 and am having problems getting my smtp to work.
(basically, telnet and the other ports seem to work fine, but port 25
gets 'accessed denied'... In particular, it works fine if I use the
loopback address (127.0.0.1), but not if I use the actual IP address.
The other ports (e.g., port 22 for ssh) works fine for either.)

Any suggestions?
