YDL and 6100 ... phaze II ...

Hi all, 

I'm posting again because I've got this problem with ppp/pppoe which I do
not seem to be able to solve:

I'm running YDL 2.3 on a 6100/60/40/4. Everything *seems* to be working fine
ecept for the fact that I can't get a working connection to the net and I
get a "timed out" error".

adsl-connect tells me that the ppp module is not installed or that the
kernel (2.4.19-rc2) does not support it; but I've installed the ppp module
myself with apt-get, and not just once!!!

The same happens if I try to insmod -f the ppp module, it just tells me that
the module is not there ...

Any hint?
