Help!!! Need to fix GUI login!

Thanks to those who replied.  It did turn out to be a simple mouse 
problem.  I plugged one in and it went away.  I guess I should've tried 
that first, but it wasn't exhibiting the behavior associated with the 
mouse freezing at the GUI login, so I thought it was something else.

It never actually did "time out" as one of you mentioned.  I left it on 
all day thinking it would and when I got home, it was still cycling 
around the text login.
