PPC5400/200 W/G3 upgrade card

So far I've been stumped getting YDL 2.3 to install onto my 
PPC5400/200 (136MB RAM). It hangs at the package selection 
process. 
I have a chance to pickup (on eBay) a 5400/120 with the G3 
upgrade card in it. Aside from improved performance on the Mac 
side, would this upgrade have any effect on my ability to get YDL 2.3 
(or 3.0) to install. 
I've got a 20 gig hdd divided into two approximately equal halves for 
Mac OS 9.1 and YDL when and if I get it running.
