Niklas, What PCI slot do you have the SCSI card in?  If you put it in
the high speed PCI slot - 66mhz, vs. the 33mhz.  There is not enough
voltage to run the Adaptec SCSI card, it requires 5V's at the bus. 
The 66mhz PCI slot only provides 3.3V.
