Then it's NOT the first partition. It's the first unallocated
partition.

Mac OS 9 should be the first partition. Or partitions, depending on how
you want you Mac environment. Then the next unallocated chunk is for
YDL.

MY notes that came with the CD say:

"SELECT MAC OS STANDARD...FOR THE FIRST PARTITION"
