I had problems similar to yours when first installing YD2.3 on my 9600MP =
with=20
its original video card.

The solution was to choose the "Safe Default" configuration with dexter. =
(I'm=20
not sure if that's the exact option, but you should know what I mean when=
 you=20
see it.) I wasted a good two days fighting with the configuration before =
I=20
said "screw it" and went this way.=20

Dexter warns it might be ugly, but what I found was that it worked and us=
ed=20
whatever screen resolution and color depth I picked in Mac OS. I'm runnin=
g=20
7.5.something as my Mac OS so YMMV. My 17" IBM P70 monitor is running 102=
4 x=20
768 with 24 bit color at 85MHz. It's really nice looking.

So run dexter again, choosing the "Safe Default" option rather than tryin=
g to=20
configure anything. Then reboot into Mac OS. Set your prefered screen=20
settings and reboot back into Linux.

Changing video settings is my biggest nit with all current Linux distros.=
 It's=20
so damn easy in WIndows and Mac OS I just don't get why Linux makes it=20
hard...

Hope this works for you.
