OSX restore - help

I'm nto sure why you get the kernel panic booting from the OSX CD, but it
may be looking for a valid volumeto install OSX to...  never been there.

Have you tried booting from your OS9 CD?  If that works, you can then use
drive setup to format the disk, and then re-sinatll or "restore" whatever
you want.
