so what are you saying?  there are some good howto files on the YDL web 
site that would probably get byour modem configured on both YDL and 
Mandrake - actually there's a lot of good stuff there - X86 config is 
good - I'm a dummy and it made sense to me ....  If you can't get the 
modem going - post what the problem is ... cheers David.
